This sweet, soulful-eyed boy is a one-year-old Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix with a gentle heart and a growing confidence. Currently enrolled in the Paws in Prison program at the Lockhart Unit in Texas, Bourbon is being trained by a team of dedicated female inmate handlers who are helping him shine.

Bourbon is smart, eager to please, and thrives on kindness and routine. While he may be a little shy at first, he quickly warms up and becomes a loyal, affectionate companion. He’s making great strides in his basic obedience and would do best in a home that will continue to nurture his blossoming personality.
